Demokratie. Schön langsam sollte die OSZE (Organisation für Sicherheit und Zusammenarbeit in Europa) echt damit beginnen, sich ein Geburtstagsgeschenk für den Präsidenten ihres derzeitigen Vorsitz-Landes zu überlegen: Bitte, bis zum Siebziger von Nursultan Nasarbajew bleiben nicht einmal mehr zwei Monate, und der Mann ist anspruchsvoll! Ein Blumenstrauß und eine Bonbonniere werden es also nicht tun.
Nursultan Nasarbajew? OSZE?
Also. Ersterer führt seit mittlerweile fast 20 Jahren die Republik Kasachstan, und Kasachstan führt momentan den Vorsitz von zweiterer: Der OSZE – jener Institution, die nach eigener Definition „für die nachhaltige Sicherung von Stabilität, Demokratie und Wohlstand … durch politischen Dialog über gemeinsame Werte sowie durch deren praktische Anwendung“ steht.
In Kasachstan sieht die praktische Anwendung der Demokratie unter anderem so aus, dass sich das Volk jedes Jahr spontan etwas Schönes für den Präsidenten einfallen lässt.
Zum 54er durfte Nasarbajew zum Beispiel damit beginnen, sich eine neue Hauptstadt zu bauen.
Zum 66er wurde der offizielle Feiertag dieser Hauptstadt auf seinen Geburtstag – den 6. Juli – verlegt.
Zum 67er schenkte ihm das Parlament die Möglichkeit, als Präsident so oft zur Wiederwahl anzutreten, wie es ihm beliebt.
Und jetzt sickert durch, dass er heuer, zum 70er, nicht nur den Ehrentitel “Führer der Nation” kriegt, sondern auch unwiderrufliche Immunität vor jeglicher Strafverfolgung.
Da muss sich die OSZE ganz schön anstrengen, wenn sie mithalten will.
Falls es an Ideen mangelt, hier ist eine: Wie wär’s etwa damit, Nasarbajew zum OSZE-Ehrenvorsitzenden auf Lebenszeit zu ernennen? Ihm würde das sicher gefallen, und die OSZE hätte ganz viel Zeit, ihre demokratischen Werte mit jenen von Kasachstan in Einklang zu bringen.
